The Novak Race took place early in January at the famous S&N Trackside Hobbies. The event is put on by none other than Scotty Ernst at his facility. The Novak is one of the premier big races and always run top notch by Scotty's and his gang. Team Corally was confident heading into the Novak race following our results in Vegas and Cleveland. The team worked through practice to get dialed into the high bite track. Once practice was done it was evident that the team had done their homework as many were setting the pace in their class. JOSH HOHNSTEIN TQ & WIN 13.5 Rubber TQ & WIN 10.5 Rubber First up was the Rubber Tire classes and Team Driver Josh Hohnstein showed the way in both 13.5 and 10.5 classes. He had his PHI dialed in and on rails as he nailed down the TQ spot for both classes! Brad Johnson was dialed in as well with his PHI as he moved to the front of the 13.5 Foam class. It was a tight field but Brad locked down the TQ spot and a prime starting spot for the Triple A mains. Mike Blackstock was on fire this weekend carrying over from his performance in Cleveland. Mike put his PHI on the pole for both 10.5 Foam AND Modified TC classes! In total that gave Team Corally 5 TQ's in the 5 classes we competed in! The mains were looking good for some great results. BRAD JOHNSON TQ & WIN 13.5 Foam First up for the Triple A mains were the Rubber Tire classes. Josh Hohnstein laid it down in qualifying and carried it into the mains. Josh won the first 2 mains in both classes to lock down 2 wins for Team Corally. He was easily able to distance himself from the rest of the field and walk away with double wins. Nice job Josh! Next up was 13.5 Foam where Brad Johnson sat in the TQ spot. The mains were close and very tight as Travis Schreven was on Brad the whole time. Brad was able to take down 2 of the 3 A mains and there for giving him the overall victory! Brad has been on a roll and it continued here as well. 10.5 Foam class was a tight battle between TQ Mike Blackstock and the number 2 car of Josh Cyrul. They battled back and forth for the overall through all 3 mains. In the end Mike finished 2nd overall after some hard racing with Josh. MIKE BLACKSTOCK TQ & WIN Modified TQ & 2nd 10.5 Foam Finally, the Modified Touring class was up and Mike Blackstock never looked back. He had his PHI dialed in and on rails the entire weekend. Mike was not letting this win get away from him as he took down the wins in the first 2 mains to lock down the overall victory! Giving Team Corally 4 wins for the weekend! We would like to Thank the drivers for their awesome performance and results. In the end Team Corally drivers took home every Top Qualifying spot in the 5 classes we competed in.
