Team Corally headed out to Vegas for the 2007 edition of the IIC put on by Scotty Ernst. The IIC race was the official carpet debut of the RDX PHI car for the entire team and from the prototype testing results
shown by Tosolini and Blackstock we were confident.
Chris Tosolini started off big by taking Round 1 TQ for modified foam, a position he was not willing to let go of the rest of the weekend
as he stayed on point and would secure the TQ spot for the A-main.
TOSOLINI ON THE POLE
The always competitive stock foam class saw many team drivers battling for the top spot. Team drivers Jarrod Langlois, Steve Boice, Brad Johnson and TJ Bradley
were all deep in the mix for the A-main final. Brad Johnson stepped it up in Round 3 to move into the TQ position which he would hold onto for the A-main final.
So heading into the A-main finals Corally RDX PHI had TQ spots in both stock and modified foam and looked for strong finishes.
BRAD ON THE POLE
The stock foam A-main was up and with Brad on the pole we were in prime spot for the overall. The race started and Brad and Jason Schreffler broke away from the pack
early to do battle up front. Jason followed Brad merely inches behind for about 3 minutes, never once touching Brad but applying the pressure heavily. Jason had some
bad luck on a slight board tap and had to retire. Brad maintained his lead spot with a comfortable 6 second lead over the chase pack which he held onto for the remainder
of the race to take the 2007 IIC WIN!
Next up for A-mains was the high speed modified foam class with Tosolini on the pole. The starting buzzer sounded and they were off as Tosolini had
an incredible holeshot to pull out to a straightaway lead almost immediately. Chris' PHI was dialed perfectly this weekend and it showed as he
was running flawlessly. Chris maintained the lead until the edge of this tire peeled back a bit and made the car very edgy. Chris did his best to hold
onto the car and still finished a strong 2nd overall.
The 2007 Vegas IIC was a huge success for the official debut of the RDX PHI car. Overall we had team drivers place 18 cars in the A-main finals
with a mix between foam and rubber mains. The RDX Phi showed strong results on both foam tire and rubber tire to display the cars diversity in
tuning. We would like to thank all our team drivers for putting in the time and effort to deliver the results at this years IIC race. We would also
like to Thank the IIC Crew for putting on an excellent race and see you in 2008!
