The 28th Annual US Indoor Champs was upon us for 2007 over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. CorallyUSA headed out to Cleveland, Ohio for the annual event with high hopes coming off our wins in Vegas and at the Halloween Classic. The RDX Phi has been on point at every event so far and we expected nothing less at this race. Some of the Team headed to Cleveland the saturday before the event to get in a solid 4 days of practice at the local track The Gate which is down the street from the Holiday Inn hotel. Many of the other teams had sent their top drivers in early as well to prepare for the big show the following weekend. TOP 3 MASTERS TC The US Indoor Champs turned out to be one of our most successful event ever for top results. First up was the Masters Touring class which was dominated by Eli Ezrow for the second consecutive year. Eli had his PHI running flawlessly every time out and reset his own TQ every round. Eli continued his fast pace on into the main by taking the A-main win! Eli was so fast and so dialed he lapped everyone except 2nd place in the A-main! The Stock Touring class was hotly contested as always with lots of PHI cars battling for the final 10 spots in the A-main. Heading into the A-main we had Brad Johnson on the TQ spot. Brad also TQed Stock class in Vegas, and 19T at the Halloween Classic last month. Second on the grid went to Jeff Cuffs with his super smooth PHI. Craig Xavier rounded out third on the grid, giving Corally the top 3 spots for the A-main! TOP 3 STOCK TC Joining the Top 3 drivers in the A-main final were also Paul Ciccarello and Mo Denton. The A-main got under way and Brad's motor studdered off the line which allow Cuffs to get around him and into the lead. Cuffs opened up a small lead but Brad's car came around and slowly worked the gap down. Brad caught Cuffs with 10 seconds to go and they got together in front of the drivers stand. Brad stopped and allowed Jeff to regain the lead and take the overall win with Brad coming in second. The remaining drivers finished 6th, 8th and 10th respectively. Next up was 19T Touring and sitting on the TQ spot was Mike Blackstock as his PHI was dialed in for both 19T and Modified! Joining Mike in the A-main final were fellow CorallyUSA drivers Brad Johnson, Paul Ciccarello and Jeff Cuffs. Blackstock capitalized on his TQ spot and took the lead from the beginning and never looked back. Mike's PHI was perfect from start to finish and led wire to wire. Joining Mike on the podium in 3rd spot was Jeff Cuffs with his PHI car as well. The remaining drivers finished 6th and 8th respectively. TOP 3 19T TC The A-main finals were very successful so far but CorallyUSA was not done yet. Next up were the 12th scale A-mains and we secured the TQ spot for stock as Andrew Ellis put his SP12X in the number one spot by 2 seconds over the field! Chris Tosolini had secured the 5th spot in the Modified A-main final after only having 6 batterie packs on his new car. The start of the 12th stock A-main looked good for the first lap as Drew jumped out to the lead. Coming around to the infield for the 2nd lap he was tapped on the rear end by the 2nd place car and promptly got spun out and put into the wall and dropped to 10th! Drew did not give up though and put on a charge throughout the rest of the A-main and was able to get back into 3rd spot to secure a podium finish after a rough start. TOP 3 1:12 STOCK The final main of the weekend was the 12th Modified class! Some serious power being displayed in these little cars as seen by someone in the B-main ripping a WHEELIE at the start of his final main! The start of the A-main was pretty smooth but things started to mix up and Tosolini soon found himself in 3rd and his car was getting better with each lap passing. The front runners got mixed up a bit and this allowed Tosolini to take over the lead! Chris stayed strong and worked on distancing himself from the pack a bit by opening up almost a straightaway lead! Chris' SP12X was dialed in and flying and able to sneak by for the extra lap at the end of the time for his victory lap! Overall the US Indoor Champs was a huge success for Team CorallyUSA and we walked away with 4 Top Qualifer spots and 4 A-main victories! The Corally cars showed domination at this event and continued success following the wins in Vegas and at the Halloween Classic.
